Many have heard their claims on TV. Among other things, the makers of Dermacia Foundation claim that “Dermacia Breathable Foundation is water-resistant for up to 90 minutes of swimming or working out.”

So we thought we’d put the claims to the test.

We decided to try to work out and swim and see how the foundation faired after each experiment. Here are our results.

First, for the workout claim. After 45 minutes of a cardio workout on a treadmill, the makeup seems to still look pretty good. I saw no makeup transfer on my workout towel and no lines from sweat. I am sure that after ninety minutes the result would be similar (but the treadmill for 90 minutes is a little much for our normal workout!)

As for the swimming claim, it was mixed. After 90 minutes, I definitely felt like I needed a touch up, but the good news is that it was still providing some coverage. Most foundations only last about five minutes in the pool's water for me; so although it wasn’t perfect, I was impressed.

These results will impress a most women, especially those who do a lot of outside work or sweat a lot in their daily activities. The foundation should still hold up to an entire day under normal circumstances--even for them.
