Win More By Playing Clever
Win Lotto - two words that represent a major goal for many lottery players all over the world, but not a goal that is by any means easy to achieve. Because lottery numbers are drawn entirely at random, there is nothing we can do as players to increase our chances of winning apart from buy more tickets. However, we can do several things to try and increase the amount of prize money we receive if our "win lotto" dream comes true. Here are my top tips for playing clever...
Play high numbers
Some players assume that a good way to win lotto prizes is to pick their numbers according to birthdays and anniversaries. The problem here is that this is a very common approach, and if all of the lotto numbers are in the range of 1 to 31 (which can be thought of as days of the month) you would probably end up sharing any lottery jackpot you win with several other players. To decrease the chances of this happening, always include one or two high numbers - by which I mean 32 or higher - in your lottery selection.
Be selective
Not all lotteries are equal. Some may offer you a shot at winning a million. Others may give you a chance of winning ten million. You should select the lottery game you choose to play based on what your "win lotto" dream means to you. If it means winning any amount that can give you a greater degree of financial security, most lottery games will be suitable. But if it means becoming a multi-millionaire you should focus on those lotteries that offer the highest prize levels, as you could still achieve your goal even if you have to share a jackpot with one or two other players.
Avoid patterns
Some players try to second guess the rest of the lottery-playing population by entering sets of numbers such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 or, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18. Players who enter such patterns tend to make two mistakes. First, they believe that the chances of such ordered sequences of numbers being drawn are smaller than any other set of numbers, and this is obviously not true - all combinations have an equal chance of being drawn. Second, they believe that they must be the only player who has ever considered entering such an ordered pattern, when the truth is that a surprisingly large number of lottery players think exactly the same thing. The tip here is therefore very simple: avoid entering patterns of numbers because this will only increase the odds of you having to share any jackpot prize that such numbers may win.
Ignore temperature
This might sound like an odd tip, but I'm referring to the lists of "hot" and "cold" lottery numbers that many players like to keep track of. Once again, the problem with this approach is that if you base your selections on hot and cold numbers, you can almost guarantee that somebody else will be doing exactly the same, and this would lead to a shared jackpot if you were to get lucky. And of course, there is really no such thing as a hot or cold number in the first place. Lottery numbers have no memory and the chances of any given number being drawn today is exactly the same as any other number, regardless of which numbers have or have not been drawn in the past, so do yourself a favour and ignore temperature.
Go random
One of the easiest ways of adhering to the previous tips is to enter numbers that have been selected entirely at random. Whilst there is a chance that a random selection of numbers could give you a line that has no high numbers (thus violating the first tip) or generate a patterned sequence (violating the third), in the vast majority of cases the random route will generally mean that you end up sharing any prize you win with fewer players than you would by taking any of the other "popular but misguided approaches" mentioned previously. And of course, selecting numbers at random using the Lucky Dip or similar feature of your chosen lottery is one of the easiest and most convenient entry methods available.
Although nobody can guarantee that your "win lotto" dream will ever come true, if it does then the tips provided here could help you to win more of the jackpot than you might have won previously. All you have to do then is figure out what to spend it all on...
