All Government or state ran lotteries give the ordinary man in the street a chance to become rich beyond their wildest dreams. Pick the correct 6 little numbers, and you could be a multi-millionaire. It happens every week, so why doesn't it ever happen to you? Do you ever ask yourself this question? Do you every pray for divine intervention? Do you seek out the help of clairvoyants or tarot cards, accepting this 'expert' advice on which numbers will be lucky for you this week?
In the UK National Lottery there are almost 14 million different combinations for the 6 numbers between 1 and 49 to appear. So if you buy one ticket, you have a one in 14 million chance of winning. Buy 14 million tickets and you are guaranteed to win the jackpot. There has been one time when the actual rollover jackpot exceeded this sum but that would have required you to physically complete 14,000,000 lottery tickets, and stump up £14 million. Beyond the means of most people.
You should know that there are some simple tactics you can put into place to improve the chances of your winning big. Most people play numbers that have special meaning to them such as birthdays, addresses, phone numbers etc. The numbers 1 to 31 are selected by many more people so if you do win with these numbers, you end up sharing with more people, and therefore win less. So by analysing the numbers people have a tendency to play, and avoid these in your selections, you stand a much better chance of winning more money if you do win at all.
So here are some free tips on how to ensure you win more...
1. Don't choose 6 numbers below 31
2. Every number has the same chance of being drawn each week. For example, just because 44 hasn't been drawn for 52 weeks, doesn't mean it's due to be drawn next week. Avoid choosing this type of number as others think the same way.
3. Avoid selecting multiples, for example 7,14,21,28,35,42 which are multiples of 7. This is a very popular selection.
4. Avoid picking the same numbers as the previous week. Lots of people do this.
5. Avoid picking previous numbers + 1, or -1.
6. Avoid number patterns where a selection results in a straight or diagonal line on the ticket.
Independent research by a well known mathematician suggests you should select your 6 numbers at random, but then reject them entirely unless:
a. their total is at least 177
b. 3,4 or 5 of them are on the edge of the ticket
c. they do not form a single cluster, nor are they spread as six isolated numbers.
This limits the number of combinations you can select down to 1,500,000 from 14,000,000. Now you still have the same odds of winning, but when you do win you will be less likely to share with anyone else. This is discussed more on my website

You may have to try several times before you come up with a valid selection, but it could pay dividends.
